I apologize for that title.
Hammer Films is back in business, the Hollywood Reporter tells us. Their first endeavor after the little-seen and long-forgotten “To The Devil A Daughter” will be the somewhat oddly titled “Wake Wood.” Will it recapture any of the old magic? Will it even feel like a Hammer movie, now that we’ve sailed so far beyond the days when simple things like lurid Technicolor and lushly appointed (but really obvious) soundstages could get our bright crimson blood a-pumpin’? I for one hope so, and I hope they’ll get Christopher Lee to do a modern day Hammer pic. It’s just a shame Peter Cushing is long gone.
